GRANDPARENTS’  DAY  CELEBRATION  in K.V. O.F.  DUM DUM  2010-2011

                                          ( A Report )

 

Grandparents’ Day was celebrated in K.V. O.F. Dum Dum with great enthusiasm at the Vidyalaya premises  on 10-2-2011 at 12:30 p.m. The progamme began with lighting the pious lamp by the Principal of the Vidyalaya  Dr. Murali Megda followed by a Welcome song by the students of Primary Section of the Vidyalaya.

 

 

 

 

Mr. J. K. Barik, H.M. welcomed formally the gathering. Mr. Barik said in his speech, the significance of the function. He said “ As we seek to strengthen the enduring values of the family, it is appropriate that we honour our grandparents.” The elderly people were welcomed traditionly with Tilak and rose as a Symbol of love and affection.A bouquet of colourful  cultural programme comprising of recitation,dance, skit and group song was presented by the Primary students. The programme was conducted by Isha Ghosh  and Anurag Bhattacharya of Class-V C in a befitting manner. Near about 250 grandparents attended the function. Some of the guests expressed their happiness and gratitude to attend the function. One of the guests Mr. Barindra Prasad Biswas said ,“ I am really moved to be honoured  and loved by the tiny tots of the Vidyalaya”. Another guest Smt. Kanchan said,’’ This is the first time I have heard about such a beautiful function. I have never seen such type of function in Purulia. I am happy to see my grandchildren are in the safe hands in this school.” The Principal Dr. Murali Megda said in his speech, “ It is the experience and believes of our grandparents and the senior members in the society strongly affect our lives. It is an opportunity to thank them for their service to the society and guidance to the new generation.” The programme ended by vote of thanks given by Smt. Shibani Bhattacharya, CCA , co-ordinator, Primary section of the Vidyalaya. The function was well co-ordinated and successfully ended with the distribution of a lunch packet to the guests.

c) Republic Day celebrated in the School Premises as well as in the field in collaboration with Ordnance Factory

e) Children enjoyed the variety of dishes and shared with their friends. These help them to develop the sharing, cleaning and eating habits in community.

An educational tour was arranged as an essential curriculum on 15thFebruary, 2010.  Click here for the photographs.

 

A fancy dress and group dance competition was held on 13thNovember, 2009.  A skit competition was arranged in the primary section as an extra curricular activity.  The photographs of both the competition are here.

A community song in Oriya was selected and enjoyed by all students and teachers.
