          CELEBRATION OF VANAMOHATSAV -           A REPORT BY K.V. O.F.DUM DUM KOLKATA

 

 

What does he plant who plant a tree? He plants the friend of sun and shy; he plants the flag of breezes free; the shaft of beauty towering high.

Kendriya Vidyalaya O.F DumDum celebrated Vanmohatsav Day from 5th july 2011 to 7th july 2011 by planting trees, presenting a skit, poster competition, speech recitation and group songs under the guidance of Mrs. Saroj Chopra and Mrs. Tanima Mukherjee. Students of class X presented a skit which honed the idea that destruction of trees is not only destroying the greenery but also the very breadth of life. The speech presented by Dipayan Moitra of  class IX gave a clear picture of present day  condition with statistical data. The  poem “encroachment” touched everyone’s heart. Catchy slogans, like-“ love green, hate greed”, “reuse  the past’ recycle the present, recover the future”,”green resolution  is the only solution to reduce pollution”, conveyed the message of vanamohatsav. Posters helped even the little  onces to understand the importance of trees. Lastly the songs by tagore—- “ mora vijayer ketano urao” reached every  nook and corner of the vidyalaya. A pledge was taken by all.

The message conveyed by the principal, Dr. Murali  Megrda.”
